Those are quite hilarious! I love the look of anger in the first one and then the joy! Thanks for sharing!

I'm not sure the second one is joy Kristi... Looks more of a combo of fear and "damn its cold"!

Oh that's funny! But if it was in NH, I'm betting that's a cold look in the second one, mixed with maybe a little bit of "you'll pay for this"?

Kristi: If you look really closely at the lower left hand corner of the first picture, you will see my aunt's hand on Nana's leg. She was trying to help her in, but as you can see from the expression, Nana didn't want her help. The second picture is shear panic!
Robert: You are right, it is not at all "joy" she is expressing.

That's hysterical! By the look on her face one would think the water temperature is about 40 degrees. Tell her not to fret she'll warm up...

Peg: It was in Massachusetts and it was in the summer. I don't think it was cold, she just was really scared.

Debi: She was a great sport for even getting in there. I think it was the only time I ever saw her in a bathing suit.
Nate: Wow, you have a bit of a dark streak, huh! You like the angry one? I have to admit, I love that picture! Thanks for commenting.

Sharon, that expression other than WTH am I doing in this pool, is probably reflective of this water sure is COLD!!! Brrrrr..........

Ted: Thanks! This was back in 1972 and she has been gone for many years now. We had a lot of laughs that day. My grandmother was a really fun lady! Her name was Thelma and to this day we refer to her when my dad gets a cranky look on his face. We call him Thelma face because he looks like she does in the first picture.

Did you really make her climb over the side of the pool??!! lol

Gary: You are right...WTH was surely running through her mind.
Debi: I am sure she was having second thoughts! It was quite a day for poor Nana! I don't think she ever went in again.
Posted by Sharon Tara New Hampshire Home Stager (Sharon Tara Transformations) about 1 year ago
Dora: It's so funny, the majority are assuming the water temperature is the reason for her expression. It was summer and the water wasn't that cold. It is fear, not cold, she is reacting to.
Tony: You made me laugh. Contrary to what you think, this is not a case of Nana Abuse. I have no idea why the ladder is next to, instead of inside, the pool.

LOL....this is priceless! I love the scarf on her head like it's really going to keep the water out :-)

I love the scarf too! My mom used to always wear a scarf whenever she went out, whether a chiffon one for every day or those plastic rain scarves your Nana was wearing. Years ago my dad finally put his foot down and told her she looked like an old woman when she wore them. Although we were secretly relieved, a part of me is sad that she doesn't wear them anymore...

Sharon - I think she was mad about having to wear a bathing cap - and may I ask did she know how to swim? She looks like a scared cat trying to claw its way out of the water. lol

Sharon: Looks like she probably didn't stay in long. My Mom is terrified of water and whenever I am able to drag her into waist deep water, she still needs a noodle or some floaty device.

Chris Ann: Your mother sounds like my mother. She never learned to swim and I don't think I ever saw her in water without some kind of flotation device to hang on to. Yes, Nana was very scared and she did not stay in long.

I don't think she quite gets what all the fuss is about.... and I have to be honest, I'm with her. I hate swimming!!

Melissa: I'm not a swimmer, probably because my mother was petrified of swimming. I don't enjoy getting wet unless I'm really hot and need to cool off. It's in and out for me! My poor nana, that was brave of her!
