At the request of Kathy Nielsen via her blog post "Home Stagers - Post Your Favorite Staging Transformation of 2008" I hereby submit my personal favorite transformation from the past year.
BEFORE The living room furniture (two sofas, two chairs, and several tables) was crowded into the smaller end and the more spacious area was being used for dining. Having the two sofas and walls covered in matching fabric was overwhelming.

AFTER Dining furniture was moved to smaller end by window. One flowered sofa was moved to the family room and the two wing back chairs were moved to the master bedroom. The red sofa and loveseat were originally from the family room.
The best part about this staging was that nothing had to be brought in. All the furniture was there, it just needed to be rearranged.

Sharon ~ I remember when you posted this because I loved the way the entry turned out! Removing the wallpaper from that area (and the floral furniture) went a long way to transforming the rooms.
It's amazing how people try to cram furniture into a small space. Looks beautiful now, staging works!
This is awesome, Sharon! The re-arrangement made such a big difference.
Congratulations. Your post is being featured in the group Staging Before & After Pictures.

Kathy P: Ideally, I would have liked all the paper removed, but the homeowner was only willing to remove some. Removing the matching sofas helped to soften what wall covering was left.
Lori: Thanks. Yes, it does work. This house got two offers within weeks of staging. Previously it had been on the market over nine months.
Kathy N: Thank you so much!
Sharon, I can not think for the life of me why they would have made the smaller room hold all that furniture.
Excellent job! It's difficult to believe the owners thought this worked - the matchy matchy made for yucky yucky. You did an amazing job and how great that you were able to use their stuff alone.
Congrats on a job well done.

Danny: Many times people put furniture in a room and then never consider changing it, even when it isn't working out. The sellers have enjoyed their new living room since the change and wish it had been done sooner.
Melody: Yucky, yucky...that is funny! Thanks for the comment.
Debra: Thanks, it is a beautiful home. I was so happy to get the call that it was under agreement.
That is great, Sharon, congrats on helping get the house sold through great staging!
