Easy, Inexpensive Valance Window Treatment in a Pinch

Realtors and Stagers are always looking for inexpensive, easy to follow ideas on decorating vacants and rentals.  Here is a quick way to dress a window with items you probably already have.

My daughter's new bedroom has windows that are small and sit just above a shelf.  She thought that she couldn't use her panels from her previous apartment, but I came up with an easy way to use the old and save her the money of buying new.

tab top panel

You can use any panelfold panel

Fold lengthwise in half.  Remove or tuck in tabs so they don't show.

Fold over again

We folded lengthwise again because her window is small.  You could use after only folding once.    Use Clip-on Rings to hold all the layers in place and hang on rod.

Finished Valance
They are very simple, look really cute and add a nice shot of color.
Do you have any quick, inexpensive curtain ideas to share?

Thanks Jo, Audrey, Kathy and Kristina for the comments!  It certainly didn't hurt that the original curtains just happen to be a trendy color right now!

Thanks so much for sharing~putting your idea into my memory bank!

I posted a nice idea on another thread a while back~it had to do with using napkin rings & napkins folded on the diagonal. If I can scare up the method and a pic, I'll come back to post it.

Susan   Thanks!  I hope you find it, I would love to see it.

Stephanie    I guess that depends on how many times you fold them!

Cindy   Final pictures shouldn't be too far off, we only have a few "projects" left to do.
