Well, I'm pretty excited. The Seacoast is getting a Christmas Tree Shop. The planning department has issued a permit and they soon will begin excavation at Home Depot's old address on Durgin Lane. Sharing the location is supposed to be Bed Bath & Beyond and one other undisclosed store.
The stores are expected to open next Fall.
The store will come in quite handy for those of us with a staging business! Looks like Christmas comes early next year!

Hi Sharon - like you, I'm thrilled about Christmas Tree Shops coming to town. They've been tearing down the old Home Depot and it really does now feel like it won't be long now. They took forever giving them the go-ahead to do this.
I love Christmas Tree Shops, and this will sure beat driving to Portland, Salem and Saugus, that's for sure!

Diana: It's like those stores but with packaged food and toys. I'm not familiar with Ross.
Shannon: And the Portsmouth location won't have tax!
Julia: Isn't it the greatest feeling to drive home with a pile of stuff you got a great deal on! I love it!
My first and only Christmas Tree Shops experience was the one in Portland. They expanded down to SI, NY but they opened the store right after I moved so I have yet to get there. One of these trips I'll make time.... Have fun shopping! It's a great store! Would be nice if they'd come on down to A-town.
We drive through Portsmouth frequently and I just noticed this past weekend that the store was right next to Bed Bath and Beyond. When will the store open? Its now October 14th and I'm going back up north next weekend.
Will I have any luck?
Susan I'm not sure when they will open...I've heard November. Sorry.
Is the Portsmouth store open yet?
Sue: Yes the store is open
