Try making cold brewed coffee for a more intense flavor with less bitterness and acidity.
My husband recently discoverd a new way to brew his coffee. His cousin introduced him to Cold Brewed and he likes it so much, I thought I would share it with you.
It's no more work, but it does involve a longer brewing time, so you have to make it in advance.
We use a French Press to make ours, but you don't have to have one...see the link below for instructions on how to use jars instead.
Grind 2/3 Cup coffee beans and place into French Press.
Add 3 Cups room temperature water and stir.
Cover and refrigerate for 12 hours.
Pour coffee through a coffee filter into a serving pitcher or storage jar.
Coffee will be strong. If you are going to add ice and milk or cream, or like strong coffee, it should be fine.
If it is too strong, you can dilute with water to taste.
Serve as Iced Coffee or heat in microwave for hot coffee.

Thanks for the tip. I'll have to try it out. And thanks for not advertising your listing. Too many have forgotten that this is for information and not advertising.
Ohhh, that does sound yummy. Especially for Iced Coffee where it could be made in advance and refrigerated. Otherwise I am too spoiled (and lazy) in the morning so I just push one button and have a fresh ground cup of hot steaming coffee.
Sharon, I've never heard of this. Thanks for letting us know.
I've never heard of cold brewing coffee, sounds awesome though!
Dennis: I hope you like the coffee. I checked out your blog and you have some great posts...you should start posting again and write more often. I love the post about the little girl questioning your role as a realtor.
Shar: I totally understand!
Janice & Diane: Give it a try and let me know what you think.
Sharon, I can't wait to share this with my fanatical coffee loving friends. Thanks!
Sharon- my neighbors love this method of making coffee. They used to make it all of the time but gave it up when their children bought them the single pod style coffee.
I just can't "warm up" to the idea of cold coffee!
I'll have to try it. I do grind my coffee...and have a press!
( I goofed on the contest...didn't realize I had yestardays post as a draft...now there isn't time to start over....Sigh!)
Hi Shar, sounds refreshing, I have a french press so I will give it a try.
Mary Kay: If they are fanatical, they may already know about it.
Kathy: The pods are very popular now.
Patsy: Really? Iced coffee on a very hot day...of course I would want lots of cream and sugar.
Joan: Sorry to hear about the contest. That is something I have to be careful of...I can see how easily it would happen.
Barbara: Just remember it may be strong and need adjusting.
Hey, Sharon - You lost me when you said coffee. LOL. I've never been a coffee drinker. One of my college roommates at Texas A&M convinced me to try it once, and I did, and that was enough for me!
Russel: I didn't lose you completely, you are still here commenting! I only like coffee with cream and sugar. I love coffee ice cream!
That's right Sharon -- coffee ice cream is one of my favorite flavors! (Making coffee is just too much trouble -- I go for instant!!)
Sharon - Sounds really good, but too much planning in advance for my java addiction. If I wanted an extra cup, I would have to wait 12 hours. Oh, the horror... LOL
Sharon, it is interesting. I thought if coffee older that 10 min it gets more acidic and your method require 12 hours in refrigerator....maybe it's has less acidity because you don't pour hot water over... I will try it some day. 12 hours waiting time sounds little long. I have an espresso machine and make double espresso over ice ( I call it "doppio on the rocks" ;-)) than I add some milk. It doesn't take long at all.
Maureen: Have you had oreo coffee ice cream yet? It's amazing.
Judy: No, you don't make just one cup at a time...this recipe makes several cups. You could double it and make a pitcher full.
Anna: My husband makes it at night and it sits in frig overnight. No waiting at all!
Hi, Sharon. I like my coffee HOT HOT HOT, on the verge of thermonuclear meltdown...regardless of the time of day or the weather so this is interesting, but not for me! My friend, Janice, loves iced coffee so I will pass this on to her and she will surely appreciate!
Leslie: I totally understand...I hope Janice likes it!
