Last weekend Portsmouth, New Hampshire hosted it's first air show in over twenty years at Portsmouth International Airport at Pease. The stars of the show were the amazing US Navy Blue Angels.

For days, leading up to their performance, the Blue Angels buzzed the area with booming sound and roaring speed, practicing their craft just above our heads.
For many locals, just having the Angels practice in the area, was exciting enough.
It is estimated that 70,000 people were in attendance for the two day show. Local businesses couldn't be happier with the results.

This year, the Blue Angels received 400 applications for appearances and accepted approximately 30...Portsmouth was lucky to be one of the chosen locations.
The Angels weren't the only thing blue around here last weekend...

How cute. The Blue Angels are my favorite! I go to see them at least once a year at the local airshows here in the Washington DC area.
Love that little boy...............great picture Sharon.
First of all Sharon that cutie Jack does indeed take his painting seriously, LOL...love that pose for the camera! And secondly living near Annapolis most of my life those Blue Angles are awesome to watch!!!
Little on is tooo cute. wow at the heart. great pictures.
Love the Blue Angels and they are truly amazing and skilled pilots. I am sure that did draw a lot of attention.
Great shots of the fast moving Blue Angels, Sharon. Hope Jack is using edible finger paints :)
Sharon...70,000 is a lot of people! What a tribute to the Blue Angels.
Hope a bunch of them got to also see Jack.
Dan: I didn't go to the show, but I did watch from a nearby parking lot that had a great view. They are amazing.
Roger: Jack got a little carried away with his finger paints!
Cynthia: Yes, Jack is a character! As for the Angels, we had them flying overhead all week and it was pretty exciting.
Anna: He certainly has my heart! Thanks!
Sharon: It was insanity around here on the roads leading to the show...we had to plan accordingly if we needed to go somewhere. It was a very big deal in our area...it's been so long since an air show was here.
Lee & Carol: I don't know what he uses for paint, but I'm sure his mommy has a handle on it.
Mary Kay: No, they didn't get to see Jack...Jack only performs at private parties! He was intimidated by the loud sound while the Angels were practicing in the area...he never would have survived the actual event.
Sounds like an incredible show! I've never seen them, but would love to. Your grandson gets cuter every day. Does he blog?
I don't know about that...Zack looks like an Angel in his own right and I will go vote right after leaving this comment!
Hi, Sharon. How clever of Jack to use blue paint, just in time for your Blue Blog!
Hey, I clicked on the link to vote but could not find a picture of Zack! What is the Category?
Patsy: You are so funny! He doesn't blog yet, just makes regular appearances in mine!
Russell: That is so sweet...he is one of our little angels...we have two - Jack and Zack. Jack is featured in this post with the blue lips. Zack is the one in the photo contest. Thank you so much for voting!
Leslie: The kid is no dummy!
Russell: The link should take you right to Zack's picture. Scroll down and you should see this picture:
If not, just exit and click the link again. Thanks so much for making the effort!
We always get either the Blue Angels or the Thunderbirds at our air show in October. It's always a great event, although I haven't been in ten years now.
Russel: It was a very exciting weekend around here!
I forgot to add Sharon, that is one great looking photo too, I love how you got the bird on the lamp pole in the shot. That is one in million!!!
Cynthia: Thanks, but I can't take credit for that one. Husband, Rick, took the Angel photos.
The photos are great as we couldn't get there due to a wedding in CA. Hope all is well & you're getting through the 30 in 30 challenge, which I'm finding to be a challenge!
Tina: Glad you liked the pics. It was crazy around here...traffic was insane. The 30/30 challenge is challenging me too, but so far...I holding my own!
