Sometimes You Feel Like A Ride, Sometimes You Don't

It's been a busy weekend - both work and play.  It feels good to get things accomplished that need to get done.  It's somehow easier to get motivated when the sun is shining...like you have extra charge in your batteries.

helmetYesterday we did some yard work in the morning and then rewarded ourselves by taking the Harley out for the afternoon.  The weather couldn't be better.  We rode along the coast with the perfect combination of sunshine and ocean breeze.  We stopped for lunch and enjoyed our first lobster roll of the season.

Today we cleaned all the windows, inside and out, and all the screens.  I totally understand why cleaning people say "we don't do windows" with such conviction.

Hubby has hit the road on the Harley and I'm cleaning up the mess we made cleaning the windows.   I seem to be in the cleaning mood today so I don't mind staying behind.  I'll open the windows and enjoy the fresh air as I clean.

There is a special kind of satisfaction that comes from crossing items off my to-do list!

Sometimes the reward you give yourself is a Harley ride and sometimes it's getting the house to yourself for a couple hours to tackle those jobs that you never seem to have the time for.

Sharon, I have some windows that need cleaned if you get that itch again (lol).  The problem is those second story windows. I'm thinking we need to pay someone to clean them.  It sounds like you had a fun day!

Marchel:  If only I lived close enough, LOL!  I don't think so...mine are enough and I'm not looking to do anymore!

Cynthia:   Just like the wind!  Someday when we live in a condo and have less maintenance...it will be all ride all the time!

Aw man you got out again?  You are so lucky.  I have yet to get a ride in.  It looks like I am working all weekend again this week too.  Glad you got to enjoy yourself!

Hey cute helmet;)! We spent the weekend getting the screened porch ready for the season. I love to lie out there and read a good book.

What a great bit of insight into your personal life! Very nice post and you have a remarkably good attitude about spring cleaning! My wife and I were hang coffee two weeks ago and abruptly decided to clean out the garage which took all day but we can actually park cars there now! I guess we just had the right attitude...at the right time too!

Debra:  Riding is a priority for my husband!  He would let the house and yard go if the weather was nice.  I have to crack the whip every once in awhile to get stuff done...using the ride as a reward seems to work.  We have been really lucky with the warmer weather.  Hitting 90 in April is pretty amazing!

Janice:  Thanks!  I wouldn't call it cute, but it does the job!  There is so much work to do in the Springtime...it seems like it is endless!

Russell:  I had a good attitude last weekend...it may not be so good next weekend!  I was smart enough to get something done while the attitude was in check!  It must have felt really good to get that garage cleaned out!

That is me too....I would rather ride than take care of the house ANY DAY!  Fortunately (unfortunately-LOL) real estate has been keeping me extremeley busy so I won't be riding again this week but that is okay.....

Sharon- Helmet. . . good look!  I love crossing items off my To-Do list and do it better when I have the house to myself. Glad you wear your helmet when riding!

Debra:  Being busy is the best reason.  I'm sure things will slow down a little at some point and you will get out there on the bike.  In the meantime...keep up the great work!

Kathy:  I would be too afraid to go without the helmet.  Also, I have no tolerance for the wind in my face!

I hope you get out...it shouldn't be raining all weekend!

Hi, Sharon. You can be my role model...I need one!

We have had WONDERFUl unseasonably cool weather, in the 60's, so I rode in Big South Fork for 5 hours on Saturday, for 4 hours on Sunday and for 3 hours yesterday (today I took 2 aspirin; sounds like "The Twelve Days Of Christmas" in reverse!) Alas, my house doesn't clean itself and I need to stay home and get busy on the To-Do List because the dog hair is knee deep by now!

Posted by Leslie Helm/Real Estate For Trail Riders (Tennessee Recreational Properties) almost 2 years ago

Leslie:  "Knee deep in dog hair" does sound pretty disgusting, lol!  We took a 40 minute ride last Sunday, it was pretty cold. It was only 51, but it was sunny and we enjoyed it.  The funny part is when we got home, I grabbed a rake and did some yard work...with all my gear on - Harley coat, chaps, helmet and all!  It made for great bug defense!  My husband was using the leaf blower - walking around the yard in his coat and chaps too.   If only I got pictures.
