sad :(
The loss of a beloved pet is so sad. We are blessed with the time that people and animals are in our lives.
Sorry for your loss. A good dog is preferable to many people.
Sharon, he is beautiful - I once had a golden the same color, his name was Toby. I'm so sorry.
Debi
Kathy: It is very sad. Bailey was my friend Rita's. He was part of their family for 12 years.
Lee and Carol: Rita, Paul and Mark were blessed with Bailey - he was a very good boy.
Jim: Thank you. Yes, many times the animals are better than some people!
Debi: I'm sure this made you think of Toby. It's wonderful to have the precious memories they leave behind.
Sharon-I am so sorry for your friend Rita. Losing a pet is like losing a family member. They can never be replaced.
Debra: I know, it is horrible. I feel so bad for her too. I spoke with Rita today and she appreciates all the comments.
Sharon
It's a sad time when we lose a family pet.
Good luck and success.
Lou Ludwig
So sorry.
Thanks, Sharon, for posting this. Rita is doing better tonight...she didn't cry during this conversation! Bailey was an awesome dog and he will be missed by many...including me! Thank you everyone for your kind words.
Lou & Elva: Thank you so much!
Linda: I feel so bad for them. I really love that picture of her and Bailey and wanted to share it.
Sharon, send your freind Rita to the "Rainbow Bridge" it is a poem about losing ones beloved pets, it will supply some comfort, I guarantee it. We have an old black lab that is 12 and starting to show signs, I am not looking forward to "the day" when it comes.
Sharon....what a touching picture. One to treasure.
What Gerry above suggested is a good one. That poem is on here if you google it.
William Johnson posted it last year when he lost his dog....it's beautiful!
Gerry: Thanks so much for the heartfelt sympathy...I will forward the poem to Rita.
Joan: I love the picture. Rita makes the most wonderful Italian wedding cookies and this was taken to include with her recipe when we created a cookbook for my daughter's wedding.
I feel for you and your loss.
I'v never liked dogs and they I had a 'grand dog' She is so much fun.
Now I understand how people can love them
Virginia: Bailey was not my dog, he belonged to my friend. It was very sad that they had to put him to sleep, he was a great dog and they loved him very much.
Hi, Sharon. That's a sweet picture but the story makes it so much better. Those must have been good cookies; you can see the longing on his face! I love the way you included him in the wedding cookbook!
I know just how your friend, Rita, feels. It's like someone opened up your chest and just ripped your heart right out. I have learned over the years though, that when I love an animal that much, their loss has made a place for another and the gift that they gave me is that I can't live without that wonderful relationship.
Oh Sharon, those few letters just pull the heart strings!
Rita must be heartbroken Sharon, but a fabulous picture of them together!
Leslie: Rita's cookies are wonderful! I tried making them when I got the recipe for the cookbook and they just weren't the same. Funny thing about that cookbook - it turned out to be a collectors item when my daughter called off the wedding. What you say about losing a pet is beautiful, I am sure it will be comforting to Rita. Thank you!
Al and Peggy: It's so sad!
Cynthia: I love this picture and just had to share it.
