I was at a yard sale this morning and I overheard the owner of the house telling one of the bargain hunters about a site she joined online to help her with her clutter. She pays fifteen dollars a month for a membership fee and she said she loves it. She appears to be one satisfied customer. The other woman was very interested and even wrote down the name so she could look into it.
The program is The Clutter Diet
According to her, it has really made her accountable and her membership to this site is responsible for her accomplishing many tasks in her home, including organizing and preparing for her yard sale.
She also mentioned that you can pay $5 for a mini one month trial period. Interesting...
I am wondering if any of you are familiar with this site. Also, is it something you would pass on to your clients?

I've never heard of this, but it sounds like one diet I definitely need to go on!
It is so cool how folks figure out ways to make moneyt. No I never heard of this but hey , It takes all kinds
Since I also do organizing for clients I wa curious and went to the site. I hadn't heard of it. Clever and positive approach to a growing (no pun intended) problem. Thanks for posting it-how did yu hear about it?
Chris: I think most of us could use this diet! Thanks!
Charlie: I was pretty surprised actually that someone would pay for this service. I shouldn't be, though, it takes support and accountability to be successful in your goals. Pretty clever idea!
Pam: I overheard someone telling someone else that she used it.
I bookmarked that page and plan to take a good look when I have some time. Good to know that at least one person found it helpful. I love all of the resources I find on AR!
I know I should check it out for myself but am hoping my ongoing move will get me better organized.
Cathy: It could be useful to pass on to clients who need long term, on going assistance.
Richard: Best of luck with the move...don't take anything with you, that you don't use now.
Sharon isn't is fastinating the new schemes that people develop. I will bookmark for future reference. THANKS.
Ginger: Sometimes you just have to wonder "why didn't I think of that?"
Hi Sharon ~ New to me - sounds intriguing. I signed up for the newsletter. I know a lot of people use Fly Lady - I dabbled a bit with it but never got hooked.

Liz: I think it's a great idea, so many people have issues with resolving clutter and procrastination when it comes to dealing with it.
This is a great idea. People will pay hundreds of dollars for a professional organizer to come into their homes to help them get organized. This way they probably will pay about the same, but are actually accountable for all of the work that has to be done. I think it is a great idea - I will check it out. Thanks for sharing it Sharon.
The site is developed by TX-based professional organizer Lorie Morrero. Lorie is a nationwide clutter expert and long standing member of NAPO.
The "Clutter Diet" book is the #1 Kindle book download on Amazon.com The Clutter Diet Web site is very popular (as is the book & kindle download) and is helping many people declutter their lives one project at a time.
The site and book were featured in the May 2009 issue of Good Housekeeping magazine -- check it out!
Sheila: I thought it was interesting, glad you agree.
Melissa: If you aren't Lorie's PR person, you should be! Thanks.
I snooped around thre site and saw some good stuff. But I still can't figure out what the monthly membership fee gets you....
Hi! This is Lorie, I am the creator of the Clutter Diet®.
I really appreciate the discussion! One of our members, Melissa, posted the message above--she has been with us for a while and has made some great progress. I want to correct something-- my book is not the #1 Kindle book download. My book hit #8 on the Kindle nonfiction list when it was released. My BLOG is also available on the Kindle, and it is the #1 Lifestyle blog and the #5 bestseller overall. So I think that is where the confusion comes from. There, I feel better knowing that is right!
I created this program because I was really moved to help all of the people who need our help but cannot afford us in person. Many people cannot pay $75+ per hour for this kind of help, but with our help they can do a lot of it themselves for about the price of a pizza. Janna in Coeur d'Alene, sorry that our info did not explain well enough what you get for the membership. Basically the value is that, along with a bunch of audio/video/article content, they get unlimited access to our team of organizers inside our member message boards to answer their questions and provide support and advice.
Thanks for letting me have my say and join in. I welcome everyone to give us a try, and if you have clients who need us, we do have an affiliate program so you can get paid for the referrals if you like.
All my best,
Lorie Marrero
Janna: The woman I overheard talking about it seemed pretty happy with what she was getting. She mentioned a newsletter and some kind of daily or weekly suggestions on things to do around the house. She said it made it easy because she just did whatever project they said to do and otherwise she wouldn't have.
Lorie: I'm glad you stopped by and joined in the discussion. It sounds like you offer a much needed service, and I will keep it in mind for my clients.
OOPS! Very sorry that I "promoted" the kindle download to #1 --- my error, but very glad that Lorie stopped in to correct me. :) ~ Melissa
Wow Sharon how cool that Lorie the creator "stopped by." You are getting noticed girlfriend! I told you, you were good! ;-)
Debra: She is obviously a smart business woman and she keeps up on what people are saying about her business. Good for her! But, thanks for the flattery!
