My first born, Jaime, is expecting her first baby, and yesterday she found out that it is a boy. He is due to arrive the end of October. He will be our second grandbaby. My son's baby boy, Jack, is due any time now.
After having three of my own, it's wonderful to experience this amazing miracle from a different perspective.
Seeing my daughter about to become a mother is a true blessing. She has no idea just how much her life is about to change.
I don't know how I did it, I was clueless when they sent me home with her. I had no experience, no idea what to expect, and no idea that I could possibly love someone so much.
They placed her in my arms and sent me home - scared to death.
No manual, no directions...her precious life in my hands...somehow we both survived.
We survived pneumonia, sleepless nights, scrapes and falls, braces, the first day of school, endless school plays. We survived attitude and emotion, the "terrible two's" and the "terrible teen" years.

We celebrated holidays, birthdays, and felt pride at every accomplishment and milestone along the way.

Now it's Jaime's turn to be a mother to her son and experience first hand the love, pride, and fears that only a parent can feel.
I know she will be a wonderful Mom, and I will do my best to help her when she needs it.
I hope it all comes back, like riding a bike...it's been a very long time. I am a little rusty at taking care of babies!
As I pass the torch of motherhood down to my daughter and daughter-in-law, my mother is handing down the torch of grandmotherhood to me...and she says Jaime isn't the only one who has no idea how much her life is going to change!
I'm told, there is nothing like a grandchild to make your life complete.

Sharon, what a beautiful post and pictures. I love looking at the pictures, and your photos of your daughter in different stages of her life are precious. You must be so excited to be a grandma. And yes, without manuals and instructions, somehow we survive:))
Ahh this is such a beautiful post!! Congrats on becoming a grandmother. My oldest just married and I can't wait to become a grandmother!! I of course never tell him and his wife...I do not want to be one of those who ask every time I see or speak to them.....My turn will come!!
Happy Thursday!!
Lori
Aww! Sharon,
I just had 2 grand babies come along, and they are beautiful. My first grand kid was 4 years ago, and now I have 3! The best part about grand kids is, you get to wind them up, and send them home with their parents, I love it! :)

Congratulations!!! We've just started our parenthood journey...and made my mom a young grandma at 40 about 5 years ago, but I hear the same thing about how fun it is to be on the grandparent end of things for a change. We now have 3 boys (5, 3 and 2 years old) and a baby girl age 8 months. I always knew I wanted to be a mom and I do look forward to be a grandma, but not any time soon! I'm still teary eyed from my oldest's last day of pre-school today!!! LOL
Best wishes,
Kathleen
Hi Sharon, Wow 2 new babies in the family soon...your'e going to be even busier! I was clueless too and couldn't believe they were given me a real live human being to take home!
LOVE your photos of Jamie, such a cutie!
Joanna: Thank you! You have to have training and pass a test to be a Realtor, but anyone can be a parent...we are lucky to all be alive!
Lori: Thank you, and I agree. I waited patiently, no pressure, and now I'm getting two at once!
Lisa: I'm looking forward to all of it. I can't wait! Thanks.
Kathleen: Wow! I'm impressed, four babies and you sell real estate? How do you do it? I was extremely lucky to be able to be home with my babies and I can't imagine all that work and a job too! You must be one tired girl! Thanks for taking the time to comment!
Cynthia: Thank you! Isn't it amazing we didn't screw it up! I'm very proud of my kids...we did ok!
It's often said that what goes around, comes around. All of a sudden your kids will see the light and you will be looked at in an entirely different light. Congratulations, Grandma!
Ed: So true! Thanks for commenting.
AWESOME! How exciting for you!! I have no doubt that you will be an amazing grandmother - just like you are a mother! I will remember all of you in my prayers for everyone's continued health and safe arrivals. Congrats and enjoy!!!!
You must post photos of the new little ones when they arrive.
Motherhood is a precious gift. And congratulations on being a grandmother! Another one of life's precious gifts. Psst....you don't look old enough.
Sharon,
There is nothing that compares to being a Grandma! It is an amazing feeling. Congratulations to you and your daughter and son!
Jane
I'm so excited for you. I can't wait, I mean I can wait. My oldest is just 21 and I want to wait. But I also Can't Wait. Your daughter is just beautiful and I'm sure she is going to be a great mom too. Can't wait for you to start posting Grandma photos when they both arrive. :)
LOL I have an awesome husband that works with me 50/50 on everything from babies to real estate! We're fortunate to be able to work from home when we need to and to always have one of us around for our kids. It's hard work, but i'm sure it'll pay off!
Sincerely,
Kathleen
Sharon - You totally pulled on my heart strings with this one. Thank you so much. I swear...between you and Steve Loynd's post today, I feel like I want to go have a good cry. :-)
Sheila: Thanks for the beautiful words and the prayers. Number one is due July 5 and she was just told it could be any day now. We are getting very anxious!
Bob & Carolin: You say that now...wait until the photos start coming!
Rebecca: Very kind of you! Thanks!
Jane: I can't wait to know first hand! I love them already!
Tammy: I know what you mean, I wasn't in any hurry for my kids to start too early either, but I am sure excited now!
Kathleen: Oh, that explains it! What a lucky lady!
Laraine: I know what you mean! As long as it's a "good" cry, it's a good thing! Steve's post is beautiful, what a guy!
Congrats Sharon-I am so happy for you. My daughter is still alittle young for children (20) but is probably not too many years away. I wish your daughter an easy birth!! I will keep both "daughters" in my prayers for easy and safe deliveries!
Debra: Keep me in your prayers too! I've been invited into the delivery room and I may need some extra "help" with my anxiety when the time comes! Thanks so much!
What fun to see these photos!! Congratulations! I have 3 grandboys and they are just sooooooo much fun!
I was in the delivery room and I will pray for you-it is hard to see your love one in pain. Blessings to all!
Cathy: I've never been in the delivery room before...I'm pretty nervous about it. I am so grateful for the prayers! thanks!
Sharon,
Great post. Welcome to a new chapter in your life and the lives of your children. All the best. :)
Steve
Steve: Thank you! I appreciate your well wishes and I really do look forward to this new chapter!
Sharon,
It's great when we can sit with our grown kids and reminisce and see the next generations arrive; that's what life's about. Good post.
Terry: So true! Thank you for joining in!
